Scottish Statutory Instrument
Section 93 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 amended the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) (Scotland) Act 1997 by inserting a new section 73B. This section makes provision for urgent applications for works to buildings on Crown land which are listed or which are in conservation areas and provides for such applications to be made directly to the Scottish Ministers.

Under the Building Act 1984 the responsibility for ensuring compliance with building regulations may, at the option of the person intending to carry out the work, be given to an approved inspector instead of the local authorities. The procedure is dealt with in the Building (Approved Inspectors etc.) Regulations 1985 (S.I. 1985/1066) which come into full operation on 11th November 1985.

These Regulations revoke the Shipbuilding Regulations, 1931, which were designed for the safety, health and welfare of persons employed in the construction and repair of ships in shipbuilding yards. The present Regulations, which are wider in scope, are designed for the safety, health and welfare of persons employed in the construction and repair of ships and vessels in a yard or dry dock and in the construction and repair of ships (but not of vessels other than ships) in a harbour or wet dock.

United Kingdom Statutory Instrument
This Order amends the Planning Act 2008 (c. 29) (“the 2008 Act”) to reintroduce onshore wind generating stations into the definition of nationally significant infrastructure projects under the 2008 Act. It also sets the capacity threshold at which onshore wind and solar projects are nationally significant infrastructure projects at more than 100 megawatts.
